












Madel Nieddu (born Maddalena Nieddu Fresi) is the mind behind BMStudio Films & Theatre.
Madel (Since her early childhood everyone had been calling her with this diminutive of "madeleine") is a landscape architect and a creative director
for film, fashion and theatre. She currently lives and works between Sardinia and Florence, Italy. She has founded her own architecture firm Orphic Studio, permanently collaborating also with the internationally renowned Studio Lesuisse.
She studied Management and preservation of Cultural heritage at Università Cattolica in Milano and after graduation she continued her studies in Architecture at the University of Firenze, specializing in residential and urban landscaping, garden design, historical restoration & horticulture. she currently works as architect and designer in italy (sardinia and tuscany) after some brief experiences abroad, in the middle east (jordan), along with team lesuisse.
her architectural references and inspirations come from the victorian and edwardian gardens of gertrude jekyll and sir edwin lutyens, the works of capability brown and humphry repton, the bauhaus garden designers as mien ruys, the works of the marchioness of salisbury, jacques couelle, savin couelle, jean claude lesuisse among many others,
in her early twenties, during her university years, She showed an interest in architecture, art history, historical preservation, art direction and set design. she's been passionate about theatre-making since a very early age, progressing from roles in children’s plays to her first appearance before a real crowd in milano and sardinia, where she still collaborates with several independent troupes.
Some of her favorite and most influential authors are William Shakespeare and Thomas Eliot, with a special attention to European plays of the whole modern period and to ancient Greek and roman drama.
BMStudio artistic activities and professional services include the creative direction for theatre plays, cinema, architecture, fashion, curatorial events & advertising.
Some of its recent works and collaborations have been presented at the Cannes Film Festival (marché du film) ,the Cardiff International Film Festival, rieti & sabina film festival, london falcon international film festival, sarajevo fashion film festival among the others. they have been also featured on Exibart, Art Tribune, Amica Magazine, Grazia, glamour, A Shaded View On Fashion Film Festival, Vogue Italia, not Just A Label & more.
madel has been a guest lecturer at Università di Roma Tre and the Keats Shelley House, coordinating an exhibition with andrea galli (who's also her partner in life). with him she curated a review focused on gothic literature, gothic revival architecture and gardens, held at the keats shelley house in january 2017.
The BMStudio recently produced short film 'Cordelia, The K Sisterhood' (a study on King Lear by Shakespeare) co directed with British photographer and video maker Guy Stephens and starring actors Isolda Dychauk and coppa volpi winner Sandra Ceccarelli.
The film has been selected for the Shakespeare Shorts film festival judged by Sir Kenneth Branagh and run by the shakespeare birthplace trust in stratford-upon-avon.
she currently lives in the chianti region with her partner andrea and their animals.
